How to de-pin E-TEC injector coils
- E-TEC coils which are pinned into the E-TEC injector plugs can be de-pinned quite easily.
- The plugs are TE Connectivity Super Seal plugs and are weather proof.
- Step 1: Remove the anti-backout plate. While there is a specialized tool for this, a regular hooked pick or an eyeglass screwdriver will also work. Harbor Freight sells these for just a few dollars.
- Step 2: Inside the plug (see cut away below), a tang holds the male pin in place. Simply insert a slim screwdriver and lift the tang to release and pull out the wire.
