- At Redline Injectors, we take a different approach. Unlike the traditional injector cleaning methods, used by shops since 1989 that relies on 90% water and 10% solvent, we go beyond traditional process.
- Our E-TEC cleaning service is more affordable because we manufacture proper O-rings, crush rings, and filters in-house. This allows us to charge what competitors do for cleaning alone; while including premium injector filters, O-rings, crush rings, and two fuel hose O-rings.
E-TEC Injector Servicing And Testing

Marine & Ski-Doo Fuel Injector Cleaning Specialists
Redline Injectors are the industry specialists for E-TEC injector cleaning and testing, using proprietary tools, chemicals, and methods. We service marine, snowmobile, and UTV E-TEC injectors commonly found in Ski-Doo and Evinrude engines among others. If your engine struggles to start, idles roughly, misfires, bogs or emits fuel odor, it may be time for cleaning.
- While not required, we recommend depinning the Evinrude coils if your outboard engine has the E-TEC 3 pin connectors, and sending the injectors without the coils attached. Your shipping will double with them attached. Click this link for instructions on how to de-pin.
- Many shops charge a similar price, but do not include full set of new replacement parts.

E-TEC O-Rings
As of Mar 2026 we use the following.
Evinrude E-TEC Injector and Fuel Line O-Rings
- We use use Brown Viton E-TEC top internal injector O-Ring.
- We use Black Viton E-TEC fuel line O-Rings.
- We use Black Viton E-TEC lower internal injector O-Ring.
Ski-Doo E-TEC Injector and Fuel Line O-Rings
- We now use Blue Fluorosilicone E-TEC top internal injector O-Ring.
- We now use Blue Fluorosilicone E-TEC fuel line O-Rings.
- We now use Black Viton E-TEC lower internal injector O-Ring.
*There is an additional charge for the Ski-Doo Fluorosilicone O-rings, as we purchase them directly rather than having them manufactured for us.

Proprietary E-TEC Injector Service Features
- We test BEFORE and AFTER cleaning and send you the Test Bench videos.
- Functional and coil operation is checked prior to cleaning, and injectors found faulty will be refunded.
- Testing includes Dynamic testing to include low RPM (700–2500), mid range RPM (2500–5000), and final evaluation at 4500 RPM.
- We provide full-service cleaning and testing maintenance for E-TEC injectors as outlined on our Port Injector page.
- Frequently we encounter filters that are damaged and unusable. We ALWAYS replace them with properly fitting filters for safety even if they look fine as it’s a matter of time before they start failing.
- Do not settle for ultrasonic cleaning of your E-TEC filters, insist on new ones.
- Our standard premium E-TEC injector service always includes all the new Filter, O-Rings, Crush Ring and fuel hose O-rings.

Proprietary E-TEC Filters and Crush Rings
The Evinrude Fuel Injector Seal Kit (5007017) no longer includes the filter. Replacement kits from offshore vendors often fail to meet quality standards; the filters are loose and sag compromising filtration and causing pintle clogs and reduced performance. If your parts didn’t come in a NOS Evinrude bag, their quality is questionable.
That’s why we design and manufacture our own high-quality E-TEC filters, O-rings, and crush rings for use with our E-TEC Injector service. With over 5,000 proprietary kits in stock, we include our premium parts as part of our service; reducing costs to what competitors charge for cleaning alone.
eBay kits from third-party resellers come from the same low-quality supplier used by other shops—they don’t match the fit or performance of our proprietary kits.

E-TEC Injector Numbering
- Mark each injector with its cylinder number using a Sharpie and masking tape tag or something similar. We will tag the injectors with plastic tags using your provided number.
- Reinstalling injectors in their original positions ensures the EMM uses the correct coefficient file that is set for the injector and cylinder. Tracking and reinstalling injectors correctly is essential for optimal functionality.

Updating E-TEC EMM Injector Coefficients
The E-TEC injector is essentially a pump, and each unit is tested after manufacture to determine its precise fuel delivery. This produces a coefficient file unique to that injector, which must be uploaded to the Engine Management Module (EMM). The code tells the EMM if a specific injector flows slightly more or less than the baseline so it can adjust the pulse width (opening time) accordingly. That’s it, there is no magic to it.
When replacing an injector, if you want to update the EMM for the specific replacement injector coefficients, the QR codes on injectors provide these values, but they reflect a new injector and don’t account for wear. Dealer-supplied injector coefficients typically include coefficient files adjusted for age and usage.

Reading Spark Plugs
- Essential for Ski-Doo and Evinrude engines after fuel injector cleaning if there’s any doubt about an injector or cylinder; replace the spark plug with a new one, install another new plug in a known good (non-suspect) cylinder, and then compare the two. See the guide below for more information.
- Learn how to read spark plugs to accurately assess your engine’s condition. This guide covers normal, lean/overheating, and rich/oily readings for both 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines, helping you diagnose fuel mixture, combustion efficiency, and potential mechanical issues.
- Understand porcelain color, electrode deposits, and other key indicators to keep your engine running at peak performance. Perfect for mechanics, enthusiasts, and DIYers looking to optimize engine health.

Service Related Questions
Yes, we have a 2 injector minimum.
Absolutely! Rest assured that we will take care of removing the injectors for you for (typically GDI and side feed) and invoice you for a bench fee of $10 per rail to do the work as problems can often arise. However, it’s important to note that we cannot be held responsible for any potential damage that may occur during the removal process. To ensure a smooth experience, we recommend that you personally remove the injectors from the rail.
To avoid any issues with shipping service secure them in plastic and tape them to prevent leaks.
For your convenience, side feed injectors will be re-installed in the fuel rails, top feed and GDI injectors will be packaged separately. GDI Injector clips are fairly easy to remove, you should not have no any issues, but if yours are tricky to remove we will can do it if you wish.

- Please check the Injector id injectors page on the menu if your unsure what you have. Injector ID
Turn around times are stated on the Home page.
We always replace filters, O-rings, seals, spacers, grommets etc. whenever they are available for the injector, this includes side feed injectors as opposed to cleaning them while still on the injector as most places do. They become fragile over time, why take a risk.
In fact we replace everything that is replicable.

When preparing the injectors for shipping, it is strongly advised to place them inside a regular zip lock bag first. This will help to keep the fuel smell contained. It is important to avoid any damage during transit, so make sure not to simply toss the bag into a box without any additional packing material. This is particularly crucial for the pintle end.
It is not recommended to ship the injectors in a bubble envelope. Optimal protection can be achieved by using a box with some padding or a bubble envelope in a box. The small flat rate box from the Post Office may be good budget-friendly option for smaller injectors.
Send the injectors with all O-rings and related components, either installed on the injectors or placed together in a bag.
