Ultrasonic Cleaning of Fuel Rails

Fuel Rail Ultrasonic Cleaning
Please note that ultrasonic cleaning is not meant for removing stains or cosmetic flaws, as it does not serve as a finishing process. Some signs of previous corrosion or surface defects may still be visible, and the rails may not appear brand new. However, it effectively removes internal buildup, sludge, debris, rust, varnish, and other materials that could cause injector clogs within the rails. Even a closed fuel system can gather debris that leads issues, and ethanol fuels that absorb water significantly contribute to plaque formation.
We clean the rails in an ultrasonic tank using a 140-degree specialty detergent to eliminate varnish, lacquer, carbon, dirt, grime, sludge, light rust, oxidation, scale, and tarnish. We downsized the rail tank due to low demand. The maximum length for ultrasonic fuel rail service is now 19 inches long by 8 inches wide.

Fuel Rail Ultrasonic Cleaning & Fuel Rail Media Blasting
For a more thorough clean, we provide media blasting in conjunction with the above ultrasonic cleaning. This process uses fine abrasive particles to remove a thin layer of material from the surface, stripping away any existing finish. It smooths metal surfaces and eliminates rust, paint, and other debris leaving the rails with a consistent, fine-grained matte texture. The resulting finish is perfect for customers wishing to paint using various spray paints typically used for calipers or engine blocks, which can be found at most auto parts stores.
Before painting, be sure to clean the surface with alcohol, acetone, or a similar solution to eliminate any fingerprint oils that may have come from handling the rails. The maximum for media blasting service is 26 inches long by 15 inches wide.
Sending Us Your Fuel Rails
- Ideally make sure to remove any hoses, clamps, sensors, and regulators before sending your rail. It’s best for you to do this beforehand.
- In the event we get them with these items attached (typically GDI and side feed) we assume you want us to do the work and there is a nominal bench fee if we do the work. We’ll invoice you for a bench fee of $10 per rail to do the work as it can turn into a problem with stripped screws etc.
- Hoses often stick to the rail and tear internally on older cars, it is possible you may need new hoses and the screws on the regulators for example as the OEM screw tend to be soft and can get damaged when removing.
- We want to avoid any misunderstandings regarding the likely condition of the hoses or hardware if you have any screws or hoses installed when we return them
- JECS/Subaru/Side feed fuel rail service includes new stainless hex head injector caps screws and rubber connecting hose will be replaced FREE of charge if applicable to the rail when the injectors are also serviced at the same time as part of purchased services.
- Please wrap or seal rails and injectors in plastic to contain odor and leaks to prevent issues with the shipper.

When preparing the injectors for shipping, it is strongly advised to place them inside a regular zip lock bag first. This will help to keep the fuel smell contained. It is important to avoid any damage during transit, so make sure not to simply toss the bag into a box without any additional packing material. This is particularly crucial for the pintle end.
It is not recommended to ship the injectors in a bubble envelope. Optimal protection can be achieved by using a box with some padding or a bubble envelope in a box. The small flat rate box from the Post Office may be good budget-friendly option for smaller injectors.
