Mercury Optimax Injector Service

Mercury Optimax Air Injector Cleaning and Testing
We consider Optimax fuel and Air injectors as port injectors for service ordering purposes.
The Mercury Optimax uses a specialized injection system where fuel and air injectors work in precise sync, delivering a timed fuel-air mixture for maximum power. Performance can be affected by high-ethanol fuel or debris from air pump failures.
Our Mercury Optimax Air Fuel Injector Service uses custom-machined cups we designed and has CNC’s by our machine shop partners for the Carbon Zapp test bench and our proprietary POWERFLUSH machine to clean and test the air side of the injector stack. Premium service includes seal installation with our proprietary tool—at a cost lower than most shops charge for cleaning alone. Details are on our Port Injector Cleaning and Flow Testing page.

Proprietary Mercury Optimax Air Tool And Seals
Our Optimax injector and Air injector service builds on the Port Injector service detailed on the Port Injector page. Some shops advertise Mercury Optimax air injector cleaning for $20, but this typically excludes O-rings and seals, which are extra—OEM Seal Kit #26-804875 alone costs $22.
To cut costs, many shops use aftermarket combustion seals, but most are inaccurate, they all come from the same supplier base regardless of who you buy them from. They were either too thin or too large or both. After discarding thousands of these, we now manufacture the proper precision-fit Optimax Air combustion seals ourselves.

Proprietary Optimax Sealing Solution
To fix the quality gap in the market, we now produce our own proprietary Air Injector combustion seals and a precision billet aluminum re-sizing tool ensuring exact OEM-level fit and performance.
By making these components in-house, we can provide full Mercury Optimax cleaning and testing at a price lower than most shops charge for cleaning alone—no more worrying about short, bulging, inadequate seals.
As part of our standard Optimax Air service we always include:
- Correct Combustion Seal exactly matching OEM
- Combustion Seal Precision properly Fitted with Our Proprietary Tool
- Correct Upper and Lower O-rings

Yes, we have a 2 injector minimum.
Absolutely! Rest assured that we will take care of removing the injectors for you for (typically GDI and side feed) and invoice you for a bench fee of $10 per rail to do the work as problems can often arise. However, it’s important to note that we cannot be held responsible for any potential damage that may occur during the removal process. To ensure a smooth experience, we recommend that you personally remove the injectors from the rail.
To avoid any issues with shipping service secure them in plastic and tape them to prevent leaks.
For your convenience, side feed injectors will be re-installed in the fuel rails, top feed and GDI injectors will be packaged separately. GDI Injector clips are fairly easy to remove, you should not have no any issues, but if yours are tricky to remove we will can do it if you wish.

We always replace filters, O-rings, seals, spacers, grommets etc. whenever they are available for the injector, this includes side feed injectors as opposed to cleaning them while still on the injector as most places do. They become fragile over time, why take a risk.
In fact we replace everything that is replicable.

When preparing the injectors for shipping, it is strongly advised to place them inside a regular zip lock bag first. This will help to keep the fuel smell contained. It is important to avoid any damage during transit, so make sure not to simply toss the bag into a box without any additional packing material. This is particularly crucial for the pintle end.
It is not recommended to ship the injectors in a bubble envelope. Optimal protection can be achieved by using a box with some padding or a bubble envelope in a box. The small flat rate box from the Post Office may be good budget-friendly option for smaller injectors.
Send the injectors with all O-rings and related components, either installed on the injectors or placed together in a bag.
